Sunday Confessions: Little

The one thing that comes to mind when I think of the word little, is little things. Yes, I know that is a song by One Direction. But don't run, because this is not about that song. This is about my boyfriend, Kevin. He is annoying and he can be a total jerk, but he also does things that make me feel amazing. No, not 'those' types of things. Get your head out of the gutter. It's the little things he does that mean so much to me.

We have been together 3 and a half years, and he STILL does things to make me feel loved and important.

For instance, he is not a Star Trek fan. I know, I know. I also wonder how that is even possible. Even though he is not a fan, he still has bought me the entire Star Trek series (the original), and even bought all of the movies for me. How awesome is that?!

He's not a Harry Potter fan. I also don't know how that is possible. Yet he rented all of the Harry Potter movies, and watched them with me. I had already seen them, but he got them because he knew how much I love them and how much I wanted to watch them with him. He made it through every movie with very few comments about how fake it was. Color me impressed!

I love books, especially romance books. He had a romance book made for me for Valentine's Day. It had our names in it and everything. I have yet to read it because my daughter won't allow me to have that much time alone, but still, I love the book and cherish it.

He kisses me every morning before he leaves for work. He still holds me every night as we fall to sleep. He texts me throughout the day to say he loves me and misses me. He writes poetry for me! I love that more than I can fully express. He still makes time to just simply spend time with me. That is the thing I love the most.

It's not the expensive things, or even the things that cost money, that mean the most to me. It's the little things that I cherish the most. His love, his devotion and his time.

  1. I agree on the little things (which is what I did my sunday prompt on too but more the little things in parenting). I just wish my husband understood that I love it more when he does the free little things like the dishes than when he buys me anything, especially since I hate wasting money on stuff I didn't really want in the first place. Once you get married, you share the finances, and I'd rather not be short on rent and have a clean kitchen than be short on rent and a dirty kitchen waiting for me to clean in my new diamond earrings.
